Have you ever been for a massage and come away feeling ok but perhaps not as fully relaxed or recharged as you’d hoped? Or maybe you wish your therapist had used different oils? How good would it feel to be able to have a massage in your own home, at any time of your choosing, with some fabulous essential oils that are sure to make you feel good? Maybe it’s time you looked into doTERRA’s AromaTouch® Technique.

What is the doTERRA AromaTouch® Technique?

The AromaTouch® Technique is a clinical approach to applying essential oils along energy meridians and visceral contact points of the back and feet to help stimulate and balance sympathetic and para-sympathetic nervous systems of the body. The AromaTouch® technique improves well-being by reducing physical and emotional stressors and by supporting healthy autonomic function. Anyone can learn it, whether you’re young or old, male or female, and use in the lives of those you love.

What oils are used in the AromaTouch® Technique?

Each essential oil was selected for its individual aromatic properties, and for their powerful aromatic properties when combined.  AromaTouch uses specific guidelines and instructions for both dosage and application that make it a safe and effective way to receive the full benefits of essential oils. The Technique is gentle and can be adapted to accommodate young or sensitive skin so that anyone can benefit without the worry of overwhelming the body.

The AromaTouch® Technique movements

Whether a handshake or a hug, all physical touch holds different meanings. Even when sharing essential oils, there’s a difference between rubbing the oils on someone’s forearm and taking the time to really affect their overall well-being through AromaTouch. So physical touch is as important to AromaTouch as the aroma because of its amazing healing benefits.

While the main purpose of the technique is to apply the oils and provide your loved one with an essential oil experience, the AromaTouch® Technique is also about connecting with another person on an emotional level. The connections developed through this technique should form feelings of trust and help the recipient relax.

How long does each AromaTouch® Technique session take to perform?

An AromaTouch massage usually takes 40 minutes to an hour to perform.

Running and Essential Oils

Do I need a massage table to perform the AromaTouch® Technique?

While a massage table allows you the most accessibility, you can also perform the AromaTouch on the floor or the edge of a bed. Just make sure that the person is as comfortable as possible when you are performing the technique.

Where/how can I learn to apply the AromaTouch® Technique?

AromaTouch hands-on training is very helpful because you have an opportunity to ask questions and fine tune your application.

With this in mind, I often run AromaTouch® Technique training course days which are suitable for anyone and everyone, no prior experience is necessary. Check our Green Life Organics Facebook Events page to find out when the next one is happening!

What happens on the day?

You’ll receive:

• 6 hours of training on the AromaTouch® Technique
• The AromaTouch Technique training manual
• A full set of the 8 AromaTouch® Technique oils (5ml) and a bottle of Fractionated Coconut Oil
• Certification from doTERRA

The usual running schedule is approximately three hours of instruction and demonstration in the morning followed by a meal break. Then a further three hours of hands-on technical application with three rotations. Each participant will give an AromaTouch, receive an AromaTouch, and help facilitate the third at their table.

What do I need to bring?

• A packed lunch and healthy snacks.
• Water to drink after your treatment and throughout the day to keep you hydrated.
• Two large bath towels or single sheet to cover the massage table and a blanket to cover your body during treatment.
• A pillow for leg support
• Comfortable clothing
• A small cushion or towel to roll up so that your head is comfortable as you lay face down whilst receiving an AromaTouch treatment.
• Pen/notebook/business card (if you have one) – good to swap details with other participants and keep in touch!

Why would I encourage others to learn the AromaTouch® Technique?

I love AromaTouch because it’s such a simple technique to learn yet it can have a huge impact on your family’s wellness.  I think it’s truly a wonderful way to look after and pamper your all those you love, and I very much hope to see you at one of our training days soon!
